An Optical Outing With Diner for Dessert

I'm off to see the glaucoma specialist today to determine if this last lot of prescriptions is working to get and keep the ocular pressure in my eyes lower than it was.  My paternal grandfather went blind because of glaucoma and I've had three different surgeries that have kept my pressures from skyrocketing but still must use two different eye drops, which must be changed from time to time, to keep things under control.  My current doctor trained the doctor in Phoenix who did my surgeries, so I willingly drive all the way to Parker, south of Denver, about every six months to have the pressures checked in my eyes.

Today, the carrot on the end of the stick is a post-doctor visit to a diner that my foodie brother saw featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.  He's a Guy Fieri fan

and even sent me $20 to cover the cost!

[Good heavens!  Have you ever tried to download a photo of piece of currency?  It took forever!].

So, with dilated eyes, I'll be finding my way to Tocabe, 3536 W. 44th Ave., Denver http://www.tocabe.com

From what I understand, this restaurant serves diner food with a Native American twist.  Here are some of the comments from the website:

"Really excellent Indian tacos.  The fry bread instead of a tortilla is a brilliant idea...don't forget the Osage hominy and pork chili!  My husband had the bison ribs and loved them...The berry BBQ sauce was smokey and tasty..."

"I am really glad that I got to go here this summer before it aired on the Food Network.  The food was unique and delicious.  The fry bread makes a great base for this delicious taco style meal.  I tried the chicken on mine and  it was fantastic."

"...We each ordered fry bread Indian tacos with shredded bison meat and various toppings.  We were blown away by the food.  It's easy to see why Guy ended up going here..."

Whew!  Well, I'm on a mission, I haven't eaten any breakfast and I just bought some Zantac.  I'll report back tomorrow.  Teddee
