Yesterday's Walk

Here are some photos from yesterday's Easter walk.

I love the various colors and textures in this cabin sign just down the road from my cabin.  The gray of the found mountain "driftwood," combined with the orange of the log, the rope letters, the sturdy bolts.  I'd like to meet the artistic person who created this.  Do you think they deliberately daubed dark stain on the log and let it drizzle down or was it just a lucky find?...

A lot of snow on the north-facing slopes...

And none to little on the south-facing slopes...

A gate I love.  I might even be able to pull this off...

I got this far and decided, because I was just wearing sneakers, not to go further...

Some rose hips I missed last fall.  I did gather enough to make some rose hip syrup, which I gave to my neighbors for Christmas.

If this is all spring run-off is going to amount to, we are in serious trouble...

The following two photos were taken last year in June.  The water was so turbulent the authorities banned tubing on this same creek as it enters Boulder...

Some plaques from Brookside, the first cabin built in Eldora in 1878...

I'd forgotten aspen trees produce catkins...

We have a 20%-30% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow and Wednesday with a slight chance of rain/snow on Thursday and Friday.  Come on rain!

Is it dry in your neck of the woods?  Teddee
